Anti-Narcotics Force information
Controlling the importation and unauthorized use of illegal substances into Pakistan is the responsibility of the Anti Narcotics Force, a division of the Interior Ministry. The Pakistani government is the owner. The Pakistan Army and the Pakistan Ministry of Narcotics Control are represented by Ijaz Ahmed Shah, Minister of Narcotics Control (Pakistan), who has been in charge of AND since December 2020.
Due to a misunderstanding of Section 4 of the ANF ACT 1997, the force’s leader is currently a general commander in the Pakistani Army. Despite the fact that the law explicitly states that Director-Generals may be chosen from any colleagues. Currently serving as the Public Service Organization’s Director-General is Major General Arif Malik Hi(M).

ANF HISTORY :
- In order to fulfill Pakistan’s obligations under the International Opium Convention of 1925, the Pakistan Narcotics Board (PNB) was established in the Revenue Division in 1957. The Pakistan Narcotics Board (PNB) was made up of representatives from various federal ministries and divisions as well as provincial governments. Pakistan sanctioned the Single Show on Opiates Medications, 1961 on fifteenth August, 1965.
- Pakistan Opiates Control Board (PNCB) was laid out in 1973 with five Territorial Directorates, in light of UN Show on Opiates Control, with the order to battle opiates in the Country. Up until 1989, the Board was an attached department of the Ministry of Interior with 883 employees across all ranks. The Narcotics Control Division (NCD) was established in 1989, and the Board became a department within it.
- Enemies of Opiates Team (ANTF) containing 388 all positions from Pakistan Armed force was laid out in December 1991 as a connected branch of NCD.
- On February 21, 1995, the Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) was established by combining the PNCB and ANTF.
- In 2001, the Narcotics Control Division (NCD) was renamed the Ministry of Narcotics Control; however, in 2013, it was renamed the Ministry of Interior and Narcotics Control (MOI&NC).
- Service of Opiates Control (MNC) Service of Opiates Control was laid out in Aug 2017.
