Eligibility Criteria for NIG Postdoctoral Fellowship;
To be eligible for the NIG Postdoctoral Fellowship at the National Institute of Genetics in Japan, candidates must meet all of the conditions listed below:
- English is the required language.
- All countries in the world are eligible.
- Those have significant research skills to conduct genetics research initiatives.
- Those who have received or are likely to obtain a PhD degree (or similar). The degree must be earned prior to the start date of the position.
- Applicants who have previously been enrolled in NIG as of March 31, 2023, are ineligible to apply. A present or previous postdoc, technical staff at NIG, or graduate student (at the Department of Genetics, SOKENDAI) are unable to apply. Internships and other temporary trips do not count.
- NIG postdocs are expected to favourably contribute to the vitalization of NIG research as a whole. (For example, they are expected to actively engage in NIG Poster Sessions, NIG Retreats, and NIG colloquia). As a result, research ideas that require a long-term stay at an institute/university other than NIG are often not accepted.
- NIG postdocs are obligated to showcase their accomplishments at the NIG colloquium at the end of their job time.
- Publications must contain an acknowledgement of the NIG postdoc grant’s assistance.
